MILK FROG UNIVERSITY / SCHOOL PROFILE

01 / OUR SCHOOL

Learning starts with curiosity.

Ideas here often begin with an everyday inconvenience: a missing bookmark, routes that are hard to compare, or a Milk Frog’s ever-growing task list. We first ask who is having difficulty and why, then explore a response through rules, interfaces and programs.

Code is both a way of thinking and a creative material. Paper walkthroughs, clickable sketches and small experiments all have a place. Our imagined campus tools explain their reasoning and leave people free to change their minds.

Give code a clear logic, and give the Milk Frogs using it a choice.

02 / LEARNING PATH

From a small question to a finished project.

Observe · Practise · Create together

  1. BEGIN / DEFINE

    Make the need clear

Observe a small everyday difficulty. Map the people, information and steps involved, and decide what an improvement would look like before building.

  2. EXPLORE / PROTOTYPE

Give an idea a fair trial

Move from a paper sketch to a small program. Record ordinary and unusual cases, ask a companion to try the same task, then revise the rules and messages.

  3. CREATE / EXPLAIN

    Leave room for human choices

Bring the prototype, test notes and unresolved questions into a proposal. Explain where the tool is useful and which choices belong to its users.

CFS 101Foundation · Computational thinking

Computer Science: Small Steps, Clear Rules

Use a library bookmark collection to practise grouping, sorting and conditional rules. Draw the inputs, steps and results, then check the process with duplicate, blank and missing entries.

Your projectA search flowchart, three sets of test examples and revision notes.

CFS 102Foundation · Interface studies

Interaction Design: Choosing a Campus Route

Sketch a route selector for Milk Frogs, comparing ways to show distance, shade and resting places. Describe buttons, status messages and what the interface says when no route fits.

Your projectFive interface sketches and a recorded task walkthrough.

CFS 201Workshop · Programming practice

Creative Coding: A Pond in Motion

Use simple shapes, loops and changes over time to draw a pond. Compare speeds and colours, and include pause and reduced-motion options so viewers can choose the pace.

Your projectAn animated pond study, a static alternative and parameter notes.

CFS 202Collaborative · Technology studies

AI & Society: Questioning a Suggestion

Examine a fictional campus assistant’s route suggestion. Identify its information and the needs it misses, then write explanations and ways to revise the advice for three different situations.

Your projectThree scenario cards and a set of campus assistant design principles.

04 / MILK FROG MENTORS

Good questions grow in good company.

Thinker Milk Frog

Computational thinking · Learning mentor

Thinker Milk Frog

Breaks a complicated problem into questions small enough to answer. Thinker’s notebook holds flowcharts alongside “What if nothing is found?”, helping you notice gaps in a rule.

Confident Milk Frog

Prototyping · Visiting learning mentor

Confident Milk Frog

Turns “Perhaps we could” into a sketch worth trying. Move from paper to screen, note what feels clear and where a person gets lost, then make the next version a little better.

Research & projects

Quiet Routes & Rest Stops

Work with Psychology & Wellbeing on a route comparison prototype for Milk Frogs taking their time. Show shade, stopping places and extra distance separately, without reducing everyone’s comfort to one score.

Suggested outputA sample route dataset, comparison sketches and an explanation of design choices.

Pocket Bookmarks for the Library

Imagine a small tool for organising reading discoveries. Group bookmarks by theme, keep a sentence about each recommendation and allow categories to change. Test search, duplicates and empty lists with fictional entries.

Suggested outputA bookmark prototype, six sample entries and a revision checklist.

This is a fictional school within the Milk Frog University creative world. Courses, mentors and briefs are imaginative activities; they do not provide qualifications, credits or scheduled real-world teaching.
